PINTA is a unique event in London to discover the best of contemporary and modern Latin American Art. Over fifty art galleries from the Americas, Europe and London will be showcasing an exciting range of works by established and emerging Latin American artists. This is an opportunity to experience the sophisticated, international and most distinguished visual art from Latin America through museum-quality works representative of abstract, concrete, neo-concrete, kinetic and conceptual art.
Every year at PINTA, visitors, galleries, artists, collectors, curators, and institutions will strengthen their existing knowledge and develop new connections with the Latin American Art world.
After its first successful edition in London in 2010, and five editions in New York City, PINTA is back in London from 7 - 10 June 2012.
Sotheby's 'Important Russian Art' sale
Sotheby’s presents a selection of Russian art in the May Evening sale. Vasily Vereshchagin’s 'The Spy' has been chosen as the cover lot of the sale. Other highlights of the 19th century paintings include two lovely landscapes by Ivan Aivazovsky, views of Venice and Toulon by Alexei Bogoliubov, and a rare military painting by the court artist Adolf Ladurner.

Christie’s 28 May 2012 auction of Russian Art offers a rich selection of paintings and decorative works of art, the majority of which have been consigned from private sources and unseen on the market for decades. Christie's Hong Kong organises its Evening Sale of Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art on the 26.May 2012. The sale presents an in-depth, scholastic survey of the past century of artistic achievement in Asian modern and contemporary art, all curated together under one auction category, featuring exquisite and distinct works drawn from Asian modernist masters to avant-garde and cutting-edge contemporary talents. Bonhams Photography Sale: London Bonhams London organises its May Photographs sale on Thursday 17 May 2012. Lots 65 - 74A are offered on behalf of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) and all proceeds from the sale of these photographs will be donated to the NSPCC's Rebuilding Childhoods Appeal (RCA).
Phillips de Pury & Company organises its May Photographs sale on Thursday 17 May 2012. The London Photographsdepartment, a leader in the European Market, will offer a diverse and exciting mix of vintage and Contemporary works by leading and notable artists of the 20th and 21st Centuries.
Christie’s Photographs sale on Wednesday 16 May features over 100 works with estimates ranging from £3,000 to £120,000. The sale brings the story of photography closer to the present with some of the most recognisable contemporary practitioners.
