ArtTactic Contemporary Art Market Confidence Indicator has risen to a new high in the second half of 2006, the indicator now stands at 94. The indicator is up from the record May 2006 reading of 93, which implies that in the current market bulls outnumber bears at a ratio of more than 16: 1. This is the strongest reading since the launch of the indicator in May 2005, and reflects the buoyancy we have seen in both the primary and secondary market during 2006. There are no signs yet of a reversal of the current bull market. The survey includes 180 leading international contemporary art collectors, advisors, auction experts and dealers.
