The encouraging trend seen in the Modern and Contemporary Indian art market last week, was confirmed at Sotheby’s Indian sale in London this week.

 

Sotheby’s closed the Indian auction season with a total of £1,521,500 (,495,260), excluding buyer’s premium. For the 53 lots offered in the Modern and Contemporary segment, the total came in at the top end of the pre-sale estimate range of £1,039,000 – £1,520,000.
